Whenever you are running a business, it is essential for you to be updated to the performance of your employees. This helps in correcting some employees if required and thus, increasing the productivity of the company. Workplace assessment is the known as the process of evaluating the performance of employees. It is very important and needs to be done regularly for the smooth running of the business. Many things are included in workplace assessment some of them are explained below:

Ø An overall evaluation on the performance of the employee. Sometimes this may include a scale rating indicative of the strength and weakness of the employee.
Ø A continuously underperforming employee can be a performance improvement plan to save his or her job.
Ø Promotions and pay rises to workers who have performed well.

Ergonomics can be explained as the science of designing a workplace taking in consideration the capabilities and limitations of the employees. It is important to implement ergonomic assessment tools to boost the efficiency of the company. Ergonomic assessment helps an individual to compute risk factors and determine if safety measures should be put into action or not. Ergonomic training should be employed in a working environment to get better output from the employees and it also helps to enhance the working atmosphere.

Apart from the above mentioned mental safety, it is important to ensure the physical safety of employees where manual labour is concerned. Any kind of physical exertion such as lifting, carrying of heavy loads, emptying and so on required in a job is known as manual labour. There are many chances of getting an injury during in such activities involving manual labour. Manual handling training is the perfect solution for such problems. It provides the workers with the tricks and tactics to avoid job related injuries. It is an essential part of workplace safety programs. Manual Handling Training Melbourne | Job Fit

Around
one third of all workplace injuries in Australia occur during manual
handling activities. Many of these injuries could have been avoided with
good preventative interventions. Job specific training is one of those
interventions. By providing your employees with the knowledge and skills
to identify their potential hazards and know how to take appropriate
measures to reduce the risk, you can prevent injuries and reduce
monetary and productivity losses.

Job Fit’s occupational health
and safety professionals have extensive experience providing workplace
training to educate and motivate people. In the ten years, since our
doors opened, we have helped businesses reduce risk by customising
training programs to suit the needs of each organisation. Our trainers
are always enthusiastic and are knowledgeable in practical injury
prevention techniques. We can provide individual evaluations to assess
your employees on their comprehension and application of the
instructional objectives.

What does the program involve?

Generally,
we customise all our programs to suit the needs of our clients. This
customisation can be in the form of theory based training and/or
hands-on training in the working environment or in a training room. The
fundamentals of our programs include:

How to identify hazardous manual handling
Correct and incorrect methods of lifting and handling material
Identifying movements and forces that must be avoided
Workplace warmup regime
Discussion, demonstration and participation of key workplace specific tasks
Injury prevention tips
Typically
the session duration is 1-2 hours, however we can tailor a program to
suit your needs. Ideally, we limit group sizes to 15 participants
depending on the style and content of the training program. This allows
for adequate group participation and learning. All our training programs
include detailed handouts containing all the content covered in the
program.

We can also provide the training program as a high
quality video package. Click here to find out more about our Customised
Training Videos.

What do you need to provide?

For the
theoretical component of the program, all that we require is a training
room with chairs, a data projector and laptop (we can provide the
projector and laptop if needed). For the practical component of the
program, we require a space larger enough to perform various movements
and exercises. We may also require certain material and training aids
which are relevant to the group in order to practice manual handling
technique.

What benefits can you achieve from our manual handling training programs?

Improved effectiveness of workplace training
Ensuring jobs are performed using safe work practices
Reduced potential for manual handling related injuries and the effects they can have on production
